Becoming the Results You Want

SUMMARY

Well, here we are in month two of 2025 already, and for many people, your plans have already gone awry. It does not matter how much effort you put into the plan unless you have a strong foundation for achieving what you want this year. Without it you will end up disappointed, just like in previous years.

So, stick with me, because this month we are going to have a conversation that will change that forever.

Hi, this is Grant Herbert, leadership and sustainable performance coach, and today we are starting a conversation about you becoming who your results need you to be. 

It is not enough to simply know the results you want. It is not even enough to have the capability and resources to achieve it. The key question is: What are the biggest roadblocks that will stop you?

These roadblocks exist in both your beliefs and behaviours. They are shaped by your mindset and the habits you have developed over time.

We will work on key elements such as:

  •  The 3 Universal FEARS; the fear of not belonging, the fear of not being enough, and the fear of not being loved.
  •  The PERFORMANCE Trap; seeking approval from people who are not even involved in getting you where you want to go.
  •  Shifting the BELIEFS you have about yourself so that you can become the person you need to become.

And I want you to really understand the word that I am using there. It is become—it is not be straight away.

Here we are at the start of February, and this is about making progressive and incremental changes from who you are now to who you need to be.

This process allows you to realise that you already have everything you need, both within yourself and around you, to achieve your results. You will begin to understand that these results are not just things you do—they are part of your purpose and calling.

So, work with me this month. 

Ultimately, this will enable you to finally achieve the results you want this year.

I know that having a plan is not enough. Even a great plan can fall apart if you do not work on the person executing it.

Hi, this is Grant Herbert, leadership and sustainable performance coach, and today we are starting a conversation about you becoming who your results need you to be.

Over the last couple of weeks, I have helped you put a plan together. If you have not been able to do that yet, you can go back and watch those videos to get yourself set up. It does not matter that we are already in February—if you do not have a plan, it is never too late to start one. So, go ahead, do that, and then come back to join the conversation.

For those of you who have already done that, you know what results you want by the end of the year and you know where you are now. So, you have an overview of what needs to change from your current reality. We have also talked about the roadblocks you put in the way that stop you from moving from where you are now to where you want to go. And the biggest roadblocks are internal.

Over the next few weeks, I want to help you rebuild your identity—to get you into the position of who you need to be, so that you can do what you need to do, to achieve the results you want. 

Most people only focus on doing. You create a plan, fill it with actions, put it in your calendar, and feel motivated to get started. But there are certain underlying psychological patterns that hold you back—whether it is imposter syndrome, approval addiction, being a people pleaser, or doubting yourself. These internal barriers are the number one reason you remain stuck.

This month, we are shifting that together. We will focus on specific areas you can work on with me, so that you can become who your results need you to be.

This is an area I continually work on myself, and in working with my clients, it is the main thing we focus on.

Many of my clients engage me to increase their productivity, improve their billable hours, and enhance team performance. And yes, we can absolutely achieve those things. But the foundation of all of this is always working on the person of the leader first. That is the key to everything you do.
