Thank You For Joining Me in 2021

Well, it's Christmas, and it's the end of another year.

Hi, this is Grant Herbert, Emotional Intelligence Speaker and Trainer of the Year and Master Coach Trainer. I wanted to finish this year off by dropping in and saying thank you for being with me throughout 2021.

Over the last year together, you have gone to so many places. You’ve learned so many things about yourself. You’ve made many changes, shifted your beliefs, and worked on your inner dialogue. You’ve developed your Emotional Intelligence, where you’ve become more aware of the emotions that you’re feeling in the moment. You’ve also learned to navigate those emotions in a way that helped you get the behaviour that was going to serve you and the people around you.

You’ve looked at Social Intelligence skills. Looking at those skills helped you empathise with others to have much more mutually beneficial relationships and conversations.

You’ve looked at building up your identity, becoming more confident in your abilities, getting rid of those false and limiting beliefs, and becoming who it is that you know that you need to become so that you can do things differently moving forward.

You’ve worked on skills that have helped you plan to put together a set of skills that helped you get more done and be more productive.

You’ve come a long way, and I just wanted to make sure that you marked the end of this year by giving yourself credit for starting a journey and completing what you said you were going to complete.

So, wherever you are on your journey, whenever you joined me in this conversation, I want to congratulate you because no matter what life throws at us, whether on a global scale or just in your world, you can do anything. You can move beyond your roadblocks and get the results that you want.

As someone who hasn't been able to travel the world for a couple of years, I am looking forward to the world opening up again so that I can do that. However, in the last couple of years, I've reached more people by standing in front of my camera than I was able to by getting on airplanes and flying around the world.

By the way, the commute from my kitchen to my studio is about 14 seconds. So, there was much more energy left over at the end of each day.

You see, it's not what happens to you in life that matters. It's what you make it mean.

Yes, you’ve all gone through a lot of change over the last couple of years. Some of you have had people in your life that are no longer there because of a global pandemic. There have been many situations that haven't gone our way.

I'm certainly not someone that's here going, “oh, I don't have a cold. I just have a warm” or using that ‘power of positive thinking’ alone to shift things and forget what's happened. No. Life does happen.

What I'm all about is having a strategy to come out the other end.

People will say, I'm going through hell at the moment.

I say that's okay. Just don't stop.

I hope that I've been able to speak into your life in some way this year. I say this from the bottom of my heart; I feel so privileged to be able to do what I do. Along the way comes accolades and awards and all these sorts of things, but all I get out of those is that it opens more doors for me to spread the message even further.

So, thank you for being here. Without an audience there's no reason for me to stand in front of this camera.

There's no reason for me to speak a message that no one's going to be listening to.

I don’t know about you, but I'm looking forward to moving into a new year.

I'm certainly not one of these people that will say, “oh, I cannot wait for this year to finish, because I know that unless I change some beliefs and behaviours, 2022 is going to be no different to 2021.”

So, nothing happens on the stroke of midnight on the 31st of December that magically takes away all the challenges and presents a New Year.

You go through a new year or a new opportunity every single morning. So, it's no different from that. However, I know that it's a great time to set new intentions, to set some new goals, and in some cases, some people choose to set New Year's resolutions.

Unfortunately, my experience with New Year's resolutions is that a couple of weeks into the year, unless the foundations are there, those resolutions become something else that I didn't get done.

So, I want to encourage you to go back to whatever it is that you're still working on, go through those episodes again, and make sure that you particularly go through last week's episode, where you reflect on the year that's passed in a way that's going to help you to move forward. Where you refocus on what it is that you are called to be on the earth, and you relaunch whenever it is that you're going to get started again in 2022 with new vigor, new energy, and with a new self-confidence; that says, “You know what? Grant’s right. I've got everything within me and around me to be who it is that I need to be to get the results that I want.”

So, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I will take a week off from doing this message and getting this conversation out. But I'm ready to come back in 2022 in that first week and take you on a journey. This journey is going to help you not just to set those intentions, but to actually become who you need to become so that you get to the end of 2022, and you look back and you go, “Wow, look at how far I've come, and I've achieved what it is that I wanted to achieve.”

Well, that's it for me for another year. Join me again next year as we continue to work together in all things, Emotional Intelligence, Social Intelligence, Leadership, Becoming A Coach, Building A Coaching Practice, and whatever it is that you come to get from me.

I'll see you then.
